When the structure of bone is compromised and becomes weaker and less dense the bone has an increased risk of breaking. Building a strong skeleton in early life is the best insurance against developing osteoporosis and 90% of bone growth occurs between the ages of 10 & 20. Therefore we aim raise awareness of the importance of good bone health by educating young people about how to build healthy bones in order prevent serious problems occurring later in life.

The Bone Health Schools Program is designed to be delivered over 4 lessons with the content and activities mapped to the NSW PDHPE Syllabus for Stages 4 and 5. The program is designed for schools to deliver the learning to either Stage 4 or Stage 5 students.
